Sandend was Whisky Advocate’s Whisky of the Year for 2023, and the nose is grassy with touches of lemon zest, dried flowers, fresh berries, and a hint of butterscotch. The taste is tart and luscious with lemon zest, a nice burst of allspice and cinnamon bark that comes out slowly, balanced by a touch of barley sugar maltiness and a hint of honey. The finish is long, subtle, and slightly tart with a hint of spice. Excellent! (December, 2023)
