Glenfarclas 1993 Family Cask Release V
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 59.7%
Score: 93 Points
Cask #3942 was an ex-sherry butt bottled in 2010, and the nose is rich with Christmas cake fruitiness and touches of dark honey, molasses, and subtle cinnamon and pepper spiciness. The taste is intense and fiery with a cayenne pepper note, but subtle fruitiness comes out as the pepper fades with hints of molasses, raisins, and cocoa. The finish is long, mouth-filling and subtly balanced with rum cake and chocolate notes.
