GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 8. Image courtesy GlenDronach/Brown-Forman.This is a 10-year-old single malt (though it carries no age statement) matured in a combination of Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso Sherry casks. The nose has a nice oakiness with notes of coffee beans, dark chocolate, hints of sandalwood and roasted cashews, and a subtle touch of honey throat lozenges. The taste has a great balance of dark fruits, caramel candy, chocolate-covered cherries, and a hint of espresso. The espresso and cherry notes carry over into the finish, which is long with additional touches of licorice and honey. Very nice! (January, 2020)
