Glendalough 25
Country: Ireland
Region:
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Glendalough Distillery
ABV: 46%
Score: 90 Points
One of the few modern Irish whiskies to spend time in Irish Oak casks, this single malt has a nice oakiness on the nose with touches of dark fruits, sawdust, toasted caramel, vanilla, and hints of honey and butterscotch. The taste is well-balanced between a fruity character and oaky tannins with hints of spice in the background and touches of baking chocolate, toasted caramel, and vanilla. The finish is long and aromatic with a nice touch of oak tannins balanced by the bitterness of baking chocolate. (June, 2020)
