Glen Garioch 1997 Sherry Distillery Cask #7

Country: Scotland

Region: Highlands

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 58.3%

Score: 93 Points

This distillery-only “fill your own bottle” single malt comes from a first-fill ex-Sherry butt, and the color is darker than a copper penny. The nose is full of Christmas cake, treacle/molasses, fig cookies, and a hint of maple syrup. The taste is rich, thick, and intense with notes of peppercorns, maple syrup, plums, raisins, a hint of anise, and a touch of oak. The finish has long, subtle spices with hints of menthol, licorice, and oak. Outstanding! (September, 2016)
