Glen Garioch 1991 Bourbon Distillery Cask

Country: Scotland

Region: Highlands

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 48.4%

Score: 94 Points

This is a distillery exclusive bottling in which one fills a bottle straight from the cask, in this case an ex-Bourbon barrel originally filled in 1991. The color is white gold, and the nose is light with notes of vanilla, caramel, honey, and a soft oakiness. The taste is creamy with subtle spices that come alive for a vibrant, fruity taste full of red apples, sandalwood, ginger root, and a hint of butterscotch in the background. The finish is long, aromatic, and fades gently away. Outstanding! (September, 2016)
