Glen Elgin 18 (2017 Release). Image courtesy Diageo. This Speyside single malt was part of Diageo’s 2017 Special Releases series of limited-edition whiskies, and the nose is fruity and floral with notes of ginger, nutmeg, roasted almonds, and touches of honey, caramel, and vanilla in the background. The taste is spicy with ground peppercorns, clove, and a hint of curry powder balanced by honey, vanilla, ginger, and almonds. The finish is long and smooth with a nice balance of spices and a hint of honey. (November, 2018)
