George Dickel Superior #12

Country: USA

Region: Tennessee

Type: Tennessee Whiskey

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 45%

Score: 89 Points

George Dickel Superior No. 12. Image courtesy Diageo. This Tennessee whiskey comes from a mashbill of 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malted barley with no age statement. The nose has notes of crème brûlée, a soft oakiness, butter cream cake frosting, cocoa, and a hint of black cherries. The taste is smooth with gentle spicy notes of cinnamon, black pepper, vanilla, and ginger root, along with a soft oakiness and a touch of cake batter that turns the whiskey very sweet as the spices fade. The finish lingers with fading spices, a nice sweetness of cake batter and maple, and a touch of oak. (February, 2016)
