This is one of the strongest whiskies I’ve ever tasted (73.2% ABV), but surprisingly, there’s little alcohol burn to the nose, which has touches of charred oak, toasted marshmallow, campfire smoke, and a hint of molasses. The taste is bold and astringent with notes of toast marshmallow, black pepper, allspice, plums, apricots, and baking chocolate. The finish is long and spicy with dried fruits and charred oak.
