Iceland’s only malt whisky distillery makes this single malt using Stout casks from one of the local breweries, and the nose has a good hoppiness with a hint of lemon zest and touches of soft oak, toasted caramel, and muted spices. The taste has a good balance of baking spices and sweetness with hints of hops, lemon zest, and crystallized ginger leading into the finish, which is long, tart, and vibrant. Very nice! (March, 2020)
