Evan Williams Single Barrel 2004 Vintage
Country: USA
Region: Kentucky
Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Distller
ABV: 43.3%
Score: 89 Points
This vintage was released in early 2014, just short of 10 years in the barrel, and as with all single barrel whiskies, the taste may vary slightly from barrel to barrel.
The nose is sweet and oaky with molasses, brown sugar, vanilla, honey, and the barest hints of spice. The taste starts off with notes of honey and molasses, then cinnamon and black pepper spices come on strong. They fade slowly to reveal dark chocolate, vanilla, a touch of brown sugar, and oak. The finish is long and smooth with dark chocolate, vanilla, and a touch of oak. (February, 2014)
