Evan Williams Extra Aged
Country: USA
Region: Kentucky
Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 43.3%
Score: 89 Points
This Bourbon gets an extra year of maturation compared to the regular black label version of Evan Williams, and the nose is aromatic with a good balance of sweetness and spice. Dark chocolate, caramel candy, and molasses complement the spicier notes of black pepper and ginger nicely, with a soft oakiness in the background. The taste is smooth at first with touches of caramel cola, cocoa, and vanilla – then the spices kick in with black pepper, ginger, and a hint of cinnamon, along with honey and oak notes in the background. The finish is long and nicely-balanced with lingering spices, honey, and oak. (December, 2016)
