Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch #C919
Country: USA
Region: Kentucky
Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 68.4%
Score: 92 Points
2019’s third batch of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is 12 years old and a whopping 68.4% ABV. The nose has notes of pipe tobacco, molasses, brown sugar, and charred oak. The taste is thick, syrupy, and chewy with a slow buildup of black pepper and clove spices along with molasses, brown sugar, and a touch of oak tannins. This one needs a bit of water to bring out honey and vanilla on the palate, while not taking anything away from the spices. The finish is long and spicy with a hint of oak. (October, 2019)
