This is the third and final batch of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof released in 2017, and the nose has sweet notes of molasses, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, and honey balanced by charred oak and a touch of sawdust. The taste has a thick mouthfeel with a blast of black pepper complemented by molasses, caramel, vanilla, charred oak, and a hint of dark chocolate. The finish is long and dry with a peppery note that fades away slowly with hints of molasses and cocoa beans. Excellent! (January, 2018)
