Edradour 2003 PTM
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 61.2%
Score: 92 Points
This was bottled for La Maison du Whisky in France, and is very unusual in that it was matured in ex-Caol Ila casks from Islay. The nose has a mild peatiness that carries over from the cask with just a whiff of brine, but the distillery’s natural lightness remains apparent with floral notes of rose petals, lavender, and thyme. The taste is rich and smooth with a good balance of peatiness that comes alive on the palate with a subtle rosiness, coconut, and vanilla notes. The finish is smoky and long with a hint of honey.
