Dramfool Jim McEwan Signature Collection Bruichladdich 2008
This is listed as Release 2.1 from Dramfool’s Jim McEwan Signature Collection of his own casks from Bruichladdich, and was matured for 12 years in a first-fill ex-Bourbon barrel. The nose has a malty touch of barley sugar, along with lemon zest, dried flowers, subtle spices, vanilla, and a hint of buttered toast. That toasty touch comes out on the palate, along with barley sugar, vanilla, shortbread cookies, a hint of oak tannins, and subtle spices. Water opens up touches of honey and milk chocolate on the palate, and the finish is long, toasty, and warm with lingering spices, vanilla, honey, and barley sugar. Very nice! (March, 2021)
