Divergence New Zealand Single Malt. Image courtesy The Spirits Workshop. This single malt from The Spirits Workshop in Christchurch, New Zealand was matured in a combination of 50 and 100-litre French Oak casks for 3 1/2 years. The nose is malty and fruity with notes of fresh berries, touches of toffee and caramel, and a hint of oak tannins. The taste is tart, fruity, and vibrant with tropical notes of mango and papaya, along with a hint of coconut and subtle spices, while adding a few drops of water opens up even more fruity and floral notes. The finish is long, tart, fruity, and vibrant. Very nice! (March, 2020)
