Director's Cut Highland Park 27 Single Malt Scotch. Image courtesy Douglas Laing & Co. This single cask bottling was distilled in 1984 and bottled in 2011, and the nose is aromatic with notes of cedar, honey, pipe tobacco, vanilla, and peach pie. The taste is thick and spicy with black pepper, honey, toffee, cedar, wood smoke, and a touch of caramel candy. The finish is long and rich with wood smoke, honey, toasted oak, wet heather, and a hint of iodine. A very complex dram! (June, 2013)
