Producing WhiskyCast has given me the opportunity to taste some really amazing whiskies, and I’m pleased to share my tasting notes with you here. You can search my entire database of tasting notes from this page, and I hope you’ll find it useful.
This whiskey will be much harder to find than the regular Dingle Batch #4, since only 500 bottles were produced. The nose is rich and malty with notes of barley sugar, honey, caramel, toasted bread with raspberry jam, and a hint of red grapes. The taste is thick and spicy with black pepper, cinnamon, and allspice balanced by honey, vanilla, caramel, raspberry jam, and a subtle oakiness. Water boosts the fruitiness and opens up a hint of dried flowers on the nose, while softening the spices at first on the palate and accentuating the fruitiness – but only delaying the spicy burst until the end. The long finish has a good balance of spices and fruitiness. Excellent! (May, 2019)
