This is the latest release in the “Smooth” series of blended Scotch whiskies from Dewar’s, and may well be the first Blended Scotch to be finished in rare Japanese Mizunara Oak. The nose is warm and welcoming with a hint of pine needles and touches of straw, honey, and butterscotch. The taste is thick and chewy with a touch of clove, pine needles, butterscotch, and peach cobbler for a nice balance and complexity. The finish is long, complex, and well-balanced with a lingering touch of clove complemented by fruity sweetness. (June, 2021)
