Producing WhiskyCast has given me the opportunity to taste some really amazing whiskies, and I’m pleased to share my tasting notes with you here. You can search my entire database of tasting notes from this page, and I hope you’ll find it useful.
Part of a new Dewar’s series honoring the whisky regions of Scotland, this is the first-ever blended malt whisky for Dewar’s as well as its oldest expression on record. It’s finished in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks that previously held whisky from Speyside’s Aultmore Distillery. The nose has touches of figs, toasted oak, plums, grilled peaches, and a hint of hazelnut. The taste is sweet with a touch of allspice balanced by honey, figs, and caramel candy on top of apricots, peaches, and a hint of spearmint. The finish is long and tongue-tingling with lingering allspice and a hint of spearmint. Outstanding (September, 2023)
