Type: Blended World Whisky

Bottler: dekantā

ABV: 52%

Score: 94 Points

This “world blend” was created to celebrate Japanese whisky retailer dekantā’s 6th anniversary, and blends a cask of 26-year-old blended Scotch whisky from three different distilleries with younger malt whisky from Japan’s Akashi, Asaka, and Nagahama distilleries. The nose is aromatic with touches of grilled fruits, raspberries, vanilla, and hints of toffee and brown sugar. The taste is thick and nectar-like with peaches and pears, subtle oakiness and spices, and touches of dates and baked apples that come out over time. The finish is long with lingering spices complemented by touches of fruity character and oak. Very nice! (August, 2021)
