Crown Royal has always had a hint of maple, but this expression takes it to a new level. The nose has notes of maple syrup and butter, a subtle hint of spice, but barely any aroma of whisky. The taste is maple syrup with cinnamon and honey, and the finish is maple syrup with lingering cinnamon. Very one-dimensional and perhaps best suited for cocktails.
