Crouch Carolina Sour Mash
Country: USA
Region: South Carolina
Type: American Whiskey
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 40%
Score: 82 Points
This whiskey is made with the same mashbill as Crouch’s Sour Mash Bourbon, but the Columbia, South Carolina distillery matures it in used barrels instead of new ones. The nose is light and grainy with notes of buttered popcorn, honey, vanilla, touches of oak, and soft spices. The taste starts off thin and light, with a black pepper spiciness that builds up slowly and hints of honey, vanilla, and citrus. The finish has hints of citrus that linger nicely with a touch of spice. (October, 2018)
