Cream of Kentucky Bourbon. Image courtesy J.W. Rutledge Distillery LLC.Bourbon Hall of Fame distiller Jim Rutledge is reviving the historic Cream of Kentucky brand as he works on plans for his own distillery, and this 11 1/2 year old Bourbon is a classic. The nose is woody and aromatic with an aroma of vintage oak furniture along with hints of tobacco, leather, molasses cookies, and muted spices. The taste is peppery and powerful with a hint of cinnamon complemented nicely by brown sugar, pipe tobacco, honey, and a touch of spearmint. The long finish has gently fading spices with touches of honey and spearmint. Wow! (September, 2019)
