Cooper's Choice 1988 Pittyvaich. Image courtesy The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. One of the few bottlings available from this long-gone Speyside distillery, with a nose of butterscotch, linseed oil, touches of banana and coconut, and a nice maltiness. The taste has spicy cinnamon and black pepper notes that dominate the palate, with fruity touches of orange peel, red apples, banana, toasted coconut, and a hint of almond oil in the background. The finish is long with lingering spices, gentle fruity touches, and a hint of almond oil. (August, 2017)
