Country: Scotland

Region:

Type: Blended Malt

Bottler: Compass Box Whisky

ABV: 52%

Score: 93 Points

This blended malt combines Caol Ila finished in Palo Cortado sherry-seasoned casks with Compass Box’s Peat Monster blend finished in red wine casks and Laphroaig finished in Marsala barriques. The result is a whisky with a soft smokiness on the nose and touches of stewed prunes, plums, and clover honey. The taste has a nice combination of black pepper, creosote, peat smoke, plums, honey, and cocoa powder, while the finish is long with a gentle smokiness. Excellent! (December, 2024)
