Cask 88 Scottish Folklore Series Ben Nevis 45
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Cask 88
ABV: 43.2%
Score: 92 Points
This Highland single malt was distilled in 1972 and spent 45 years in an ex-Sherry hogshead cask before being bottled by Cask 88 in 2017 as the debut release in its Scottish Folklore Series of independent bottlings. The nose is aromatic and fruity with notes of toffee, figs, plums, and molasses. The taste has dark fruits, baking chocolate, clove, a a touch of pipe tobacco, and hints of licorice and black cherries. The finish is nice and long with touches of black cherries, spice, and pipe tobacco. Very nice. (June, 2018)
