ABV: 40%

Caol Ila 12 Years Old (1980's Vintage). Image courtesy The Whisky Vault. This vintage bottling of Caol Ila dates back to the 1980’s, and comes from the collection of Frank Scott of the Lunar Rogue Pub in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The nose has a soft peatiness and a slightly medicinal touch with notes of heather, honey, vanilla, and malt. The taste is smoky and peaty at first, with a pepperiness that develops slowly but does not overpower the lighter notes of dried flowers, heather, and malt. The finish is smoky and subtle. Excellent!
