Canada Gold is the “value whisky” from Forty Creek Distillery, but stands up well with the premium whiskies from its competitors.
The nose is slightly tart with notes of green apples, vanilla, honey, and a touch of oak. The taste is tart, spicy, and aromatic with a good, thick mouthfeel and notes of allspice and black pepper that don’t overpower the green apple and honey notes. The finish is long and smooth with a good overall balance. (December, 2013)
