Cambus 40 Years Old. Image courtesy Diageo. This vintage single grain Scotch was part of Diageo’s 2016 Special Releases Series, and was matured in refill American Oak hogsheads. The nose has notes of dark chocolate fudge, fresh berries, dried fruits, and a hint of straw. The taste has spicy touches of cinnamon, clove and lemon pepper balanced by hints of peaches, pears, and honey. The long finish has lingering spices along with dried flowers and hints of pears and peaches. Wow! (January, 2019)
