Cadenhead’s St. Magdalene 12 (1995 Bottling)
Country: Scotland
Region: Lowlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Cadenhead's
ABV: 63%
Score: 94 Points
This single malt was distilled in December of 1982, just a few months before St. Magdalene (Linlithgow) closed in 1983, and was bottled by Cadenhead’s in July of 1995. When it was opened during a tasting at the 2018 New Brunswick Spirits Festival, the nose was still vibrant, fruity, and floral with notes of peaches, apples, a hint of toffee, and soft spices for a complex aroma. The taste is spicy with cinnamon, clove, allspice, and a nice fruity touch of peach pie along with vanilla and shortbread cookies. The finish is very long with peach pie and subtle spices. Even after all these years, it’s still a winner! (December, 2018)
