Bunnahabhain 2008 Manzanilla Matured
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 52.3%
Score: 94 Points
This 11-year-old Islay single malt spent its entire maturation time in Manzanilla Sherry casks, and the nose has a good fruity character with notes of Christmas cake, fresh berries, salted caramel, and a touch of oak. The taste has a hint of brine along with salted caramel, good baking spices, honey, dried fruits, and oak. Water opens up the fruitiness with touches of strawberries and figs, while also boosting the spices with a hint of cinnamon. The finish is long, dry, and slightly nutty with touches of oak, spice, and fresh berries. Excellent! (August, 2020)
