Bunnahabhain 2007 French Brandy Cask Finish. Image courtesy Bunnahabhain. This cask-strength single malt was matured for 8 years before being transferred to French Oak Brandy butts for a final two and a half years. The nose has notes of toffee, dried fruits, a hint of chestnuts, red grapes, and a distinct brandy influence. The taste is dark and rich with touches of plums, red grapes, subtle spices, salted caramel, and a hint of maltiness. The finish is long with dark fruits and a hint of oak tannins. Very nice!
