Bruichladdich The Organic 2009
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 50%
Score: 91 Points
This whisky comes from organic barley matured for eight years in American Oak casks, and the nose has notes of lemon zest, a hint of smoke, brine, soft oak, and muted spices. The taste is thick, nectar-like, and dry with good spices and a mild peatiness, while honey, vanilla, lemon custard, and a hint of brine add complexity. The finish is long and fades away gently. Very nice. (April, 2018)
