Bruichladdich Rare Cask Series 1986/30
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 44.6%
Score: 92 Points
This single malt comes from Bruichladdich’s final seven casks of 1986 whisky, which were recasked into Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks in 2012. The nose has notes of red grapes, black cherries, plums, soft spices, figs, and a hint of toffee. The taste is thick, fruity, and nectar-like with peaches, red grapes, black cherries, and slowly building spices with a strong Sherry influence. The finish is long, gentle, delicate, and subtly astringent with a touch of spices. (May, 2018)
