Bruichladdich Octomore 14.2

Bruichladdich Octomore 14.2 Islay Single Malt. Image courtesy Bruichladdich.

Country: Scotland

Region: Islay

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 57.7%

Score: 93 Points

Unlike the Octomore 14.1, this Octomore is matured in a combination of ex-Oloroso and Amarone wine casks. All else remains the same: peated to 128.9 parts per million, matured for 5 years, and bottled at 57.7% ABV. The nose has touches of red grapes, heather, plums, and raisins. The taste starts off fruity at first, then peppercorns hit with a punch as touches of raisins and plums come out in the background. The finish is long and dry with a subtle smokiness and spice.
