Country: Scotland

Region: Islay

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 57.7%

Score: 94 Points

The .1 versions of Octomore are always distilled from Scottish barley and matured in American Oak. This year’s version was peated to 128.9 parts per million of phenols and bottled at 57.7% ABV. The nose has touches of honey, butterscotch, subtle smokiness, and a hint of black tea with lemon. Smoke and pepper build slowly on the palate to a sharp peak, with hints of heather, honey, and butterscotch in the background. The finish is long and smoky with lingering spice. (December, 2023)
