Bruichladdich Octomore 10.2. Image courtesy Bruichladdich. This Octomore is primarily available in the travel retail market, and spent four years in ex-Bourbon casks with the final four years in Sauternes wine casks. The nose has notes of toasted vanilla, grilled fruits, a mild peatiness, and hints of black tea with honey. The taste starts off fruity and floral before the peaty influence (96.9 ppm) comes alive with a good smokiness, hints of cinnamon and white pepper, and grilled fruits in the background. The finish is long and smooth with a good smokiness and hints of spice. (October, 2019)
