Bruichladdich Black Art 1994
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 48.4%
Score: 95 Points
Adam Hannett’s latest Black Art is a 25-year-old single malt, and as with all of the previous Black Art releases, the bottling strength is the only detail we have about the whisky. The nose has notes of figs, dates, dark fruits, licorice, and hints of brandy, anise, and oak tannins. The taste has a thick, oily mouthfeel with plums and raisins at first, followed by hints of clove and allspice that come alive slowly but never overpower the sweet and fruity notes that include hints of orange marmalade and honey. The finish is long and smooth at first, but the spices return to complement a good fruitiness and a hint of oak. Outstanding! (January, 2020)
