Brora 20 Rare Malts Selection
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 58.1%
Score: 93 Points
Brora’s bottling in the Rare Malts Selection range from Diageo was this classic 20-year-old single malt distilled in 1982 and bottled in the spring of 2003. The nose has soft spices with nutmeg, ginger, white pepper, coconut, vanilla, and a hint of citrus for excellent balance. The taste is thick, robust, astringent, and intense with a strong pepperiness, hints of citrus, banana, vanilla, nutmeg, and ginger notes. Water opens up luscious fruity and floral notes with raspberries and blackberries. The finish is long with a dry sweetness and touches of Demerara sugar, citrus, and vanilla. Powerful and complex!
