Bowmore Vintner’s Trilogy 27 Years Old
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 48.3%
Score: 92 Points
This Islay single malt spent its first 14 years in ex-Bourbon barrels, then the final 13 years in Port wine casks in Bowmore’s No. 1 Vaults at the distillery. The nose has a nice balance of subtle peatiness and dried fruits, with apricots, apple slices, and a hint of peaches balanced by honey and caramel candy notes. The taste is full of Christmas cake, dark fruits, and toffee complemented by subtle spices and a hint of brandy. The finish is long and gentle. Very nice. (November, 2018)
