Bowmore Vault Edition: Peat Smoke Edition. Image courtesy Bowmore. This is the second release in Bowmore’s Vault Edition series of whiskies highlighting various elements that contribute to the distillery’s character. The nose is waxy with honeycomb, beeswax, and hints of peat smoke, brine, and smoked salmon. The taste is peppery and slightly peaty with a good smokiness, heather, smoked salmon, honey, and vanilla. The finish is long with a peppery character that fades away slowly along with gentle touches of peat smoke and brine. Very nice. (January, 2020)
