Booker Noe loved his Bourbon uncut and unfiltered, and this 30th anniversary edition of Booker’s is no exception. Fred and Freddie Noe teamed up to blend nine and 16-year-old Bourbons to create this whiskey, and the nose is oaky but well-balanced with notes of caramel, cocoa, honey, and brown sugar. The taste is spicy, but not overpowering with a good balance of black pepper with honey, caramel, and cocoa that turns dry with a nice dustiness. That character continues through the medium-length finish with a touch of pencil shavings. (December, 2018)
