While the Bladnoch 11 is matured in ex-Bourbon barrels, the 14-year-old annual release is matured in ex-Sherry casks. The nose has touches of dark fruits with raisins, figs, and chocolate-covered orange slices. The taste is dark and complex with raisins, Christmas cake, cinnamon, allspice, dark chocolate, and a hint of dried flowers. The finish is long and slightly astringent with subtle spices and a hint of oak. Very nice! (December, 2021)
