Black Dirt Bourbon
Country: USA
Region: New York
Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 45%
Score: 88 Points
This Bourbon comes from the Black Dirt Distillery in New York’s Hudson River Valley, and is made with a mashbill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and just 6% rye before being matured for three years. The nose has notes of charred oak, soft spices, caramel, and hints of linseed oil and lemon zest. The taste is spicy with black pepper and chili powder notes that fade to reveal honey, vanilla, and caramel notes in the background. The spices linger on the finish with that subtle sweetness in the background. (August, 2018)
