Benromach 35 Years Old
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 43%
Score: 93 Points
This Speyside single malt comes from before the distillery was closed in 1983, and was among the casks of whisky Gordon & MacPhail acquired when it bought the distillery and revived production. The whisky was matured exclusively in first-fill Sherry casks, and the nose has notes of orange marmalade, Manuka honey, ginger root, and a hint of lemon zest. The taste is thick, oily, and rich with orange marmalade, a hint of clove, lemon pepper, sherry, and dried fruits. The finish is long, lingering, and fruity with orange peel and gentle spices. Very nice! (January, 2016)
