Benriach The Smoky Ten single malt Scotch Whisky. Image courtesy BenRiach/Brown-Forman.This whisky gets some peatiness in the malting process, and is matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon, Jamaican Rum, and toasted Virgin Oak casks. The nose has notes of grilled fruits, ginger, almond oil, vanilla beans, and a hint of brown sugar. The taste has a good combination of toasted oak, grilled fruits, hints of baking chocolate and ginger, brown sugar, and honey. The finish is long with hints of orange peel, baking chocolate, brown sugar, and ginger. (September, 2020)
