This 2018 release is the first of what will become an annual series of 10-year-old releases from Beam Suntory’s Basil Hayden’s brand. The nose has classic Bourbon notes of caramel, molasses, brown sugar, dark chocolate, and charred oak. However, the taste veers off in a different direction with a strong taste of cherry cola, along with vanilla, a touch of black pepper, and hints of caramel and molasses in the background. The cherry cola flavor lingers through the finish with just a hint of spice. (February, 2019)
