The Balvenie Rose 16
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 53.4%
Score: 92 Points
This expression is only available at the distillery, and spent 4 weeks finishing in port pipes before bottling at cask strength. That gives it a rosy pink color, but the nose remains nutty and oaky with hints of toffee. The nuttiness continues on the taste, with hazelnut and walnut notes as well as vanilla and dried flowers. Adding a splash of water brings out more fruit, but it’s very drinkable at cask strength.
